The Art and Science of Cooperative Development: Session 2 will be offered in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin from November 13-16th, 2017.  The training will be held in the heart of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus in Memorial Union.  As a city that boasts the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives and is home to dozens of housing, consumer, and worker co-ops, Madison offers the perfect backdrop for a cooperative development training. We’ll explore cooperative development in a city that thrives on it and draw inspiration from the training’s co-op tour!

Diners enjoy an array of colorful tables under fall foliage on a plaza in Madison.Nestled between five lakes, Wisconsin’s capital offers big city culture, a robust farm-to-table dining scene, endless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, all with small town charm. Training attendees will be in the heart of it all in downtown Madison – blocks from the Wisconsin State Capitol, the famed State Street pedestrian mall and the University of Wisconsin campus.

  • Stroll down State Street – check out eclectic shops, museums and galleries, catch local street musicians while you dine al fresco. One of the best ways to spend an afternoon in Madison.

  • People watch at Dane County Farmers Market – if you are getting into Madison early, consider visiting the largest producer-only farmers market in the country. Saturdays, 6AM – 3PM, Capitol Square. http://dcfm.org.
